Material Planning Supervisor - Machining

The Material Planning Supervisor will lead the material planning efforts in a cross-functional, collaborative environment. The role will serve as the point of contact for communication of customer and project needs. The Material Planning Supervisor will work with material and outside service vendors. The position is onsite in Farmington, MI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing material planning for specific business unit(s)
- Work cross functionally with operations, production control, quality, service and warranty, purchasing, finance, sales, forecasting, sales and operations planning
- Participate in new product launches, sunsetting products and all change control activities related to material planning
- Responsible for all PeopleSoft work instructions, training and compliance relative to material planning processes and reporting
- Lead a planning team using all available tools including Success Factors, performance reviews, training sessions and maintenance of work instructions
- Assist Machining Operations Manager with department responsibilities and back-up support
- Oversee scheduled time off for business coverage as well as accurate time and attendance records
- Associate degree in business or related field
- Minimum of 4 years supply chain, production planning or material planning related experience
- Minimum of 1 years of leading others, formally or informally
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems and their use in a manufacturing environment
- Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong leadership skills with an emphasis on strategic thinking, managing change, collaboration and managing a team
- Ability to balance competing priorities, prioritize tasks effectively and apply resources where they provide the greatest impact
- Knowledge of process orientation on how transactions flow and the impacts both up and downstream
- Effective written and oral communication skills coupled with strong problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering or finance
- 8+ years project management experience in manufacturing machining / tooling industry
- Manual and CNC machining experience
- Able to read blueprints and a good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances)
- Ability to work in a PeopleSoft ERP environment
- Knowledge of materials, testing, finish processes and heat treatments
- Ability to become International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) certified
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
